About Us
Mission Statement:
Our mission is to provide a quality, child-centered learning program that benefits children, their families and our community.
Our Philosophy:
When children feel safe and valued, they are more able to participate freely in activities that promote physical, cognitive, social, and emotional growth.
Our program fosters qualities of trust, autonomy, initiative, belonging, industry, and competence. It allows children freedom to explore within safe, appropriate, and established boundaries.
Learning Bridge has been a shared vision between us for quite some time.
Both being in the public school system for the past ten years, we have seen our passion for teaching grow. We decided to start this school as a way to help build bridges between your child’s innate desire to learn and their practical application of that knowledge. As committed lifelong learners ourselves, we look forward to helping instill that value into each of our students!
Claire Quick
After graduating from UNCW in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education, I decided to settle in the area. I have taught kindergarten for eight years and have also coached soccer at the middle and high school level. In 2014, I earned my National Boards for teaching. I hold a master's degree in educational leadership from Liberty University.
My husband, Rod, is also a teacher and coach in the county, so working with children is an integral part of our lives. We have three kiddos - Dalton, Lyla, and Nora. Our newest addition, Marlowe, will make her appearance in January! Coupling my love for teaching with providing a nurturing environment for learning has been the motivation behind Learning Bridge. Bailey and I are truly humbled and excited to have seen this dream come to fruition!
I moved to Wilmington in 2003 to attend UNC Wilmington where I completed my bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education as well as my masters degree in Language and Literacy. I have had the pleasure of teaching in this community for the past 10 years. While here, I met my husband Eddie. After our daughter was born in 2015, I realized that I wanted to do more for the children I taught.
I want my daughter, and the students I teach to have somewhere they can go that brings learning to life. A place where she, and your children can come to really build a love for learning. Out of this shared vision that Claire and I had for our children, Learning Bridge was born.
